




Mrs. Sandra Pegues is the Assistant of the Year. Mrs. Pegues is a Kindergarten assistant for Mrs. Bodien and she is also a bus driver. She is very dedicated to the children.
Mrs. Kathy Bodien is the Teacher of the Year for Green Ridge Elementary. Mrs. Bodien is a Kindergarten teacher.
The Kindergarten classes have been learning about farms. Mrs. Greene brought a hen and chicks to Mrs. Auman's class so the children could see and feel what they are like.
Desiree from Ms. O"Connors class won the Spring Basket drawing. The proceeds went to help support Communities In Schools.
Raul received the Honorable Mention at the District Science Fair at Pembroke.
Students in Ms. King's 5th grade class studied about famous Black Americans during Black History Month. Ms. King and her students dressed up as their person would have at the time. They reported facts about the famous person while being video taped by classmates.
Three 5th grade students advance to the Regional Science Fair at Pembroke University. GOOD LUCK!
Mr. Wolf's class enjoyed the solar system demonstration. All 3rd - 5th grade students attended the UNC Morehead Planatarium exhibit. They learned about the solar system, planets and may other interesting facts.
The PreK students from Ms. Jamie's class and Ms. Willis' class visited the County Office to go trick or treating.
Ms. Jamie's (Johnson) PreK class learned how to carve a pumpkin. Ms. King's students assisted the PreK students during the activity.
Ms. Faye Morrison from Walmart recognized 20 teachers for their dedication and hard work. All teachers at Green Ridge work hard and do the best for all students.
Fifth graders applied for flag helper positions and they were selected by their teachers. The students raise and lower the flag daily.
Fifth grade students attended Montgomery County Farm Bureau Heritage Day. They learned about beekeeping, pottery, basket making, making butter, forestry, farm animals and much more.
