The State of North Carolina is launching the new SUN Bucks Program. This food assistance program will provide benefits to qualifying students and families to help purchase healthy foods during the summer months. Eligible students may receive their SUN Bucks card this summer at their mailing address on file at their school. If your child is approved for or receives National School Lunch Program Free or Reduced-Price meals at their school, they may automatically qualify to receive SUN Bucks this summer. Take action now: Please confirm by March 28, 2024 that the mailing address on file with your school is up-to-date with the best address for the summer months. Please contact your school’s office if you would like to request an update to your mailing address.

Montgomery County Schools is pleased to announce it is now a Community Eligibility Provision District. Under this provision, Montgomery County Schools will provide free breakfast and lunch to all students at all times starting next school year and will continue for four years. All students enrolled in Montgomery County Schools will receive meals through the School Breakfast Program (SBP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP) at no charge. Household income applications are no longer required to determine eligibility for free or reduced-price meals at schools participating in the CEP.
CEP helps boost participation, helping schools ensure more students come to class well-nourished and ready to learn by offering all students a nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost.

A request for transfer must be submitted by June 1 each year a transfer is desired. If the student resides outside of Montgomery County Schools district, a release must also be obtained from the student’s assigned school district each year.
