  • Montgomery County Schools Early College High School (MCEC) is enrolling rising 9th-grade students for the 2024 - 2025 school year. MCEC students have the opportunity to earn their high school diploma and a two-year transferable associate degree, and/or a CTE certification in four or five years FOR FREE.

    Applications for students interested in attending Montgomery County Early College are now available. Paper copies of the application can also be picked up at Montgomery County Early College, East Middle School, or West Middle School. You may also call Montgomery County Early College at 910-898-9690 to request an application be mailed to you. Applications can also be printed by clicking HERE.

    For more information about the Early College, please click the 2024 MCEC Information Sheet.  For parents and students interested in learning more about Montgomery County Early College and in touring the campus, please call Montgomery County Early College at 910-898-9690 to schedule a visit.

    If there are more than 50 students who meet the minimum qualifications for acceptance, then a selection lottery will be performed by the MCEC Selection Committee. The committee will follow the intent of the Cooperative Innovative High School Act giving priority to at-risk students, first-generation college students, and/or students in need of acceleration. Qualifying siblings of current students will also be given priority. Non-selected students will be placed on a waitlist.  

    The application process requires students to submit a completed application packet by February 23, 2024.

  • Montgomery County Schools is pleased to announce it is now a Community Eligibility Provision District. Under this provision, Montgomery County Schools will provide free breakfast and lunch to all students at all times starting next school year and will continue for four years. All students enrolled in Montgomery County Schools will receive meals through the School Breakfast Program (SBP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP) at no charge. Household income applications are no longer required to determine eligibility for free or reduced-price meals at schools participating in the CEP.

    CEP helps boost participation, helping schools ensure more students come to class well-nourished and ready to learn by offering all students a nutritious breakfast and lunch at no cost.

    A request for transfer must be submitted by June 1 each year a transfer is desired. If the student resides outside of Montgomery County Schools district, a release must also be obtained from the student’s assigned school district each year.
