MONTGOMERY COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

SPECIAL CALLED MEETING

September 19, 2008

            The Montgomery County Board of Education met in a special called session on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at 2:15 p.m. with the following board members present:

                        James Spivey, Vice-Chairman

                        Tommy A. Blake

                        Ann S. Long

                        Shirley Threadgill

                        Almetta Armstrong

            Steven DeBerry, Chairman, and Frances Reaves were absent due to prior commitments. 

            Vice-Chairman Spivey called the meeting to order.

            Upon motion by Ms. Armstrong, with a second by Mrs. Threadgill, the board convened in closed session for the purpose of discussing personnel [NC General Statute 143-318.11(a)(6)].

            Upon return to open session, on motion by Mr. Blake, with a second by Mrs. Long, the board unanimously approved the Personnel Report as presented including the following

      Upon recommendation, approval of the following administrative contract:

·         Ben Grindstaff, Testing Coordinator, annual twelve-month term for two years, beginning and ending dates of contract to be determined.

            The meeting was duly adjourned by Vice Chairman Spivey, with plans to meet again on Monday, October 13, 2008, work session, 5:00 p.m., regular meeting, 6:30 p.m.
