MONTGOMERY COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION

 

SPECIAL CALLED MEETING

 

July 22, 2008

 

 

            The Montgomery County Board of Education met in a special called session on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. with the following board members present:

 

                        Steven W. DeBerry, Chairman

                        James Spivey, Vice Chairman

                        Tommy A. Blake

                        Ann S. Long

                        Shirley Threadgill

                        Almetta Armstrong via teleconference

 

            Frances Reaves was absent due to prior commitments. 

 

            Chairman DeBerry called the meeting to order.

 

            Upon motion by Mr. Blake, with a second by Mrs. Long, the board convened in closed session for the purpose of discussing personnel [NC General Statute 143-318.11(a)(6)].

 

            Upon return to open session, on motion by Mr. Spivey, with a second by Mrs. Threadgill, the board unanimously approved the Personnel Report as presented including the following and adding the amendment to the start date of John Ward, principal of Montgomery Learning Academy to begin July 24, 2008 instead of July 30, 2008 and continue until June 30, 2010.
