Communities In Schools (CIS) is a national organization dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential in school and beyond, regardless of their race, zip code, or socioeconomic background. We operate in over 2,500 schools across the country, connecting students with caring adults and community resources to help them overcome any obstacles in their path. Our goal is to create a powerful movement for change, with students, alumni, and peers working together to build a more equitable future for future generations.

CISMC partners with the local community to provide support to students. Student Support Specialists are placed in schools to connect students and their families with necessary resources that are tailored to meet their individual needs. This creates a link between educators and the community, allowing teachers to focus on teaching while students, especially those at risk of dropping out, can concentrate on learning in school. This approach helps students graduate and be prepared for further education, employment, or enlistment.
