Welcome to Mrs. Anderson's Second Grade Classroom!

    Our Class Mission Statement

Every day we will work as hard as we can. We will be responsible. We are here to learn. We will be kind to others and respectful to all people in our class and school.

I am Sherry Anderson. I have been teaching 2nd grade for fourteen years. It's my favorite grade. I love teaching and I love my family. I have two children, Jack and Maggie. My husband's name is Scott and we have a puppy named Lexi.

Second grade is a great year. It is the year that students become really good at reading and Reading Counts is a great program to motivate a lot of reading. Everyone in our class has set a reading goal for this nine weeks.  In math we are learning to count to 1,000 and add and subtract 2 and 3 digit numbers. Counting money, telling time, learning about shapes, and problem solving are some other math concepts we will be learning and exploring.

Homework is every Monday through Thursday. Students will have a spelling list to study and activities to complete.  Math sheets will be given every night to complete. Every child should read for twenty minutes every night. I will send books for students to read or they may read something they have or want to read. Please contact me if you have any questions.
