Meet the Digital Learning CoachesDigital Learning Coaches, Nora Beasley and Susan Read, assist staff and students in integrating technology into effective teaching and learning. By focusing on learning objectives, the coaches help teachers implement best teaching practices that are infused with the cutting-edge technology tools and skills that students will need as they graduate from high school and enter higher-ed learning and the workforce.
The coaches also provide and lead professional development opportunities throughout the schools. Nora works mainly in schools on the west side of Montgomery County, while Susan works in schools on the east side of the county. The pair stays abreast of current and emerging technologies and shares pertinent information with school staff to help ensure digital learning practices that are integrated with best teaching practices. In addition to their duties at the schools, they present at learning conferences and are involved in Planned Learning Networks. They continue to add to a Digital Learning Tips YouTube channel and help maintain a vast repository of professional development opportunities for Montgomery County Schools' staff.Nora Beasley Susan Read
Nora Beasley taught 4th and 5th grade for 11 years prior to becoming a Digital Learning Coach. She attended Pfeiffer University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and the University of North Carolina at Pembroke for her Master’s Degree in Reading Education. Nora also has her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership through Appalachian State University.

Susan Read taught band and orchestra at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, and ran her own business, before becoming a Digital Learning Coach. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from UNC-Chapel Hill and her Masters in Education - Instructional Technology from East Carolina University.
