My name is Ms. Nakee White. I am originally from Sumter, SC. I earned a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Theatre Performance from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. For as long as I can remember, I have loved the Theatre; I have traveled all over the East and Mid-West areas living my dream as a professional actress and singer. In the late 90's, I began my career performing with companies in Charleston, SC such as Footlite Players, Charleston's Children Stage, and Guerrilla Theatre. In college, I was able to perform in several shows from Children's Theatre to Musicals all while learning all aspects of the Theatre. After graduating from Winthrop, I hit the road to further expand my career. I competed in several National Theatre Auditions (SETC, NCTC, NETC, and ACTC). Some of my best works include the following: Ain't Misbehavin as Nell Carter role and Meshugah Nuns as Sister Hubert (Cohoes Music Hall in Cohoes,NY); Showboat as Queenie and NunCrackers as Sister Hubert (Mac-Haydn Theatre in Chatham,NY); Cat's Paw as Cathy and Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse (Virginia Stage Company in Norfolk,VA). I also performed with a touring Children's Theatre group in Richmond, VA by the name of Theatre IV (Emperor's New Clothes).
Additional to my acting career, I taught GED and HSAP readiness at Sumter County Adult Education and Bishopville maximum security prison (SC). In Troy, I taught GED and Human Service classes at MCC and SCI (women's prison). I recently served as the Crisis Assistant for Montgomery County where I was able to help structure children's behavior.

I am very excited to motivate and teach my students all of my knowledge of the Theatre! I look forward to meeting all of you!
