Career & Technical Education

Montgomery County Schools is proud to offer a state-of-the-art facility specifically designed for career and technical education, setting our students up for success in a variety of fields. This facility is a cornerstone of our commitment to providing high-quality, hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for the workforce or further education.

One of the key features of our program is the seamless curriculum alignment we have developed in partnership with Montgomery Community College. This alignment begins in middle school and continues through high school, allowing students to pursue advanced studies in career and technical education. Through this partnership, our students have the opportunity to graduate from high school with a certificate in high-demand fields such as medical sciences and nursing.

This program is a truly unique opportunity for our students, setting us apart from many other districts. In fact, we are one of the few school districts in the area to have such an extensive partnership with a neighboring community college. This collaboration ensures that our students are receiving an education that is both rigorous and relevant to today’s job market.

Despite being a small district, we offer an impressive array of opportunities for our students. With 18 distinct career pathways available, students can explore a wide range of interests and talents, from health sciences to technical trades. These pathways are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in their chosen careers.

Moreover, many of our students who graduate with these certificates choose to stay in the county, directly benefiting our local economy. By providing a workforce that is trained and ready to meet the needs of local employers, we are not only supporting our students but also strengthening our community as a whole.

CTE High School Pathways

Listed below are the CTE Pathways available for high school students. Our goal is to have every student become a CTE Concentrator. To become a CTE Concentrator, a student must complete 2 levels in the same pathway. In addition, we encourage all students to take CCP/CTE courses that are offered by Montgomery Community College.

Certain CTE classes also offer credentials. Earning credentials help students become more qualified in a certain skill along with giving them an advantage when applying for jobs.
