During Monday evening’s Board of Education meeting, the Board reviewed the letter sent by Governor Cooper strongly recommending that public schools provide in-person learning while following all safety protocols. This is a recommendation, not a requirement. Dr. Ellis and the Board agree that students need to be back in school as soon as it is safe to do so. They are optimistic about the recent decline in COVID-19 metrics for Montgomery County. The Board plans to review the data again at the March 1 meeting. At this time, there is no change in the return to in-person learning. Traditional students will return on Plan B starting March 8, 2021, and Early College students will return on Plan B beginning March 15, 2021, due to Spring Break. Families will also have the option to remain on Plan C.
